Hearts & Hammers - Twin Cities Names New Board Member

Minneapolis, MN - February 15, 2010 - Hearts & Hammers - Twin Cities, Inc., a private  nonprofit that provides home improvement assistance to financially challenged homeowners, today announced the appointment of Karen Rulifson to its Board of Directors; Ms. Rulifson will serve as the Board’s Secretary.

Rulifson, 40, is the President of Monarch Leadership in Minneapolis.  Monarch is a leadership development firm which develops new and mid-level leaders using an integrated approach centered on results, team effectiveness, and individual development.  Rulifson brings more than eighteen years of leadership experience to Hearts & Hammers - Twin Cities. Her experiences range from serving as Director - Global Organizational Effectiveness for Target to leadership roles in retail management, supply chain & inventory control, and nonprofit-organization consulting; she has also served as Chair for a Twin-Cities nonprofit Board of Directors. She has traveled extensively throughout Asia, implementing learning environments for startup companies and coaching leaders in global organizations. Karen received her BSB degree from the Carlson School of Management-University of Minnesota.
